Aged 25 years

Slave Owner according to 1860 U.S. Federal Census for The Creek nation, West of The, Arkansas. He owned 4 slaves while his brother Timothy owned 19 slaves and 3 slaves in trust for him of David Barnett.

Did not find a CMSR for Washington serving with his brother Timothy in the 2nd Creek Mounted Volunteers. The only other Barnett serving from this regiment was a 2nd Lt Daniel Barnet. I did not find a CMSR for a Washington Barnett in any other regiment. Did find record for a William Barnett which showed he was mustered as a Private in Company E, 1st Creek Mounted Volunteers.

2nd Mounted Creek Calvary

The Barnett Brothers all served in the Confederate army in the 2nd Mounted Creek Volunteer Calvary. Daniel and Washington died during the war. It's unknown if they were killed in action or wounded.
