Helen C. (Young) Beishline, 85, of Bendertown Road, Orangeville, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2013, at the Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident since May 2012.

Born Dec. 5, 1928, in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Owen H. "Tony" and Ethel Anna (Hess) Young. She and her husband, Roy Beishline, were married at the former Pied Piper Restaurant in Maple Grove, where she was worked as a waitress. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26.

She was a 1947 graduate of Benton High School. She worked long hours taking care of family and the many people at the restaurant and later at the Milco cafeterias in Benton and Bloomsburg, always with a sweet disposition. She will forever be a bright spot in our lives.

Mrs. Beishline was a member of St. James United Church of Christ in Bendertown, and years ago, was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church.

She enjoyed her flower beds, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Roy, are her two children: Jane K. Koons and her husband, Doug, of Catawissa; Jerry R. Beishline and his wife, Julie, of Bendertown; three grandchildren: Brent, Michael and Bethany; five great-grandchildren: Rayne, Layla, Jacob, Maya and Addison; two sisters: Phyllis Harrison, also a resident of Orangeville Nursing and Rehab Center; Nancy Laubach and her husband, Kenneth, of Benton, and numerous nieces and nephews, who were special to her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Glen Alan Beishline, and by the following siblings: Barbara A. Derr, Harry L. Young, Donald R. Young, Wayne Owen Young, Joseph Young and Marie Young.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the McMichael Funeral Home Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (Rt. 487). A viewing will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Activity Dept. of Orangeville Nursing & Rehab Center, 200 Berwick Road, Orangeville, PA 17859; Columbia Montour Home Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Bloomsburg, PA 17815, or to St. James United Church of Christ, 443 Zaners Bridge Road, Stillwater, PA 17878.
