"Leah Louise Shannon Luther passed away on December 27, 2013, at age 98. She was born July 17, 1915, in Pluto, West Virginia, to Burke and Letha Meadows. As an adult, she resided in Oregon, Carlotta, Rio Dell, and Fortuna. During her life she married three times, raised five children, and had four stepsons. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Bud Farnsworth; Linda and Leroy Maire; daughter Barbara Van Loon; stepson Don Luther and wife Carol; sister Betty Acheson and husband Mike Collins. She leaves behind 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands and many friends and relatives including her brothers; son Richard Endicott; daughter Sandy Jenkins; sons-in-law Art Van Loon and Hank Jenkins; great grandsons Scott Van Loon and Brayden Durant; stepsons Pat and Dick Shannon and Denny Luther. She worked 18 years for Pacific Lumber Company in Scotia. She enjoyed her family, going to church, and her beautiful roses. A graveside service will be held at Sunrise Cemetery..."
