Services for Mrs. Neva Mellon Brittain were Monday at Morris-Elkins Chapel in Florence with Dr. Paul Clem, the Rev. James Holland and Rev. Ray Blankenship officiating. Burial was in Greenview Park Cemetery with Morrison-Elkins Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Brittain died Saturday at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Survivors include a daughter, a sister, Mrs. Nell Mellon Hubbard of Oxford, Alabama; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Robert Shirley, A. McKelley Lynch, Tommy Cocran, Tommy Pirkle, John mager, Weakley Cunningham, Frank Achorn and Charles Marshall.

Mrs. Brittain was a native of Oxford and and lived in Florence for 14 years. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. WIlliam Edward Mellon of Oxford, Alabama and the widow of Dr. J.T. Brittain. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Florence.
