Mrs. Ada Sprigg Griffith, aged 48, wife of the late Joel L. Griffith, vice president and cashier of the First National Bank, died at 6 o'clock yesterday morning at Allegany Hospital. Her death followed a severe surgical condition which required immediate operation. She had been seriously ill but several days. Mr. Griffith died less than two months ago.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock with services at the Griffith residence, 83 Washington street, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ambrose H. Beavin, rector of Emmanuel Church, of which Mrs. Griffith was a member, will have charge of the services, should he arrive here in time from his vacation.
Mrs. Griffith was a daughter of the late Gen. Joseph Sprigg, former city attorney of Cumberland and former attorney general of West Virginia, and Mary Ellen (Stubblefield) Sprigg. Gen. Sprigg died 10 years ago and Mrs. Sprigg in November, 1919.
Mrs. Griffith is survived by three sisters — Miss Nellie Sprigg, this city, and Mrs. Lawrence L. Beall and Miss Mary McMahon Sprigg, of Atlanta Ga., who are now here. Mrs. M. L. Sprigg is an aunt and Mrs. Rebecca Baird, Miss Carrie Tower and Miss Margaret Sprigg are cousins.

Funeral services of Mrs. Ada Sprigg Griffith, widow of Joel L. Griffith, who died Sunday morning were held this afternoon from the home 83 Washington street. Rev. Ambrose H. Beavin, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, of which Mrs. Griffith was a member conducted the services having arrived from Canada this afternoon, where he was spending his vacation. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The pallbearers were: Robert MacDonald, Henry Shriver, Frank B. Jenvey, W. Milnor Roberts, Dr. James T. Johnson and George G. Young.
