Erma Maxine Patterson Allen, age 97, passed away on December 29, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born February 5, 1916 to Andrew Patterson and Erma Abigail Simpson in Clinton, Utah, Maxine was the eldest of fourteen children.

Andrew was a rancher and the family moved numerous times until settling in North Power, Oregon. Maxine eventually moved back to Ogden, Utah, where she started working in the tailoring mill, Deborah Kent. It was her dream job and she was a wonderful seamstress. She married Orice James Allen and they moved to Salt Lake City, where Orice built their beautiful home.

Preceded in death by her husband, Orice (O.J.), in 2004 at age eighty-four. Survived by step-son, Roger (Shirlene) Allen, Sunnyvale, California; daughter, Judy (Scott) Richardson, West Jordan, Utah; and daughter, Lori Allen, Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Deborah Rogers, Oregon; Brandee Allen, Tanya Allen, Troy (Liselotta) Allen, all of California; and LaNae (Charlton) Miller, Breanna (Casey) Clifford, Brittany (Israel) Erekson, all of Utah; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may visit before the services from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek, Utah.
