Orice James Allen, age 84, passed away on March 13, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born January 4, 1920 to Frank Allen and Rhoda James in Paradise, Utah.

Married Maxine Patterson. Graduated from South Cache High School. Spent six years in U.S. Marine Corps.

Worked thirty-five years as a carpenter. He built his own home and worked on the Salt Palace, LDS Church Office Building, ZCMI Mall, and many others.

Was an avid fisherman, hunter, accomplished wood carver, and artist. Won ribbons at the State Fair for his wood carvings, and best of show for his huge coxscombs (flowers).

Survived by wife, Maxine; son, Roger (Shirlene) Allen, Sunnyvale, California; daughters, Judy (Scott) Richardson, West Jordan; and Lori Allen, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Brandee, Troy, and Tanya Allen, all of California; and LaNae, Breanna, and Brittany Richardson, all of West Jordan; and sisters, Ethel Seegmiller, Betty Long, Virginia Carter, and Clair Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, where friends may visit from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn.
