Born February 29, 1940 in Hannibal, Missouri, he was the son of George Leon and Lula Carolyn Cornelius Banta. He married Anna Sue Dickerson on May 31, 1958 in Quincy. She survives.
Daniel was a graduate of Hannibal High School and a member of Faith Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing and especially loves spending time with his family.
He was employed at Quincy Soybean for 14 years and then worked for BASF for 14 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; five sons and four daughters in law; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Banta was preceded in death by his parents.
