County of Stewart}
By the Justice of the peace and grantors office for said County of Stewart, it has herein been certified to the death of David Alsup., late of this County hath died not having made any will and testament, it has been ordered by the Court aforesaid that Joseph Alsup have letters of administration on the late of the said deceased, he having given bond and security agreeable to the Court, in such case made provided. Therein in the name of the state of Tennessee. The said Joseph Alsup to enter into and upon all the goods and chattel rights and credits of the said deceased, wheresoever to be found in this State and the same to take in possession and all the surety thereof and to return according to law, all the just debts of the deceased to pay as far as will intend and the residue if any, bring to debtor to show having a right thereof by law. Witness: Robert Cooper, Clerk of the said Court office the third day of August 1816.
