Marvin was born in Villa Rica, Carroll Co, Ga but lived in Scottdale, GA for most of his life. He worked at Scottdale Mills. He was survived by his wife and two sons. He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Fortner and Ludie Lavonia Boyd Fortner. He was a hard worker, quiet, and kept his yard beautifully landscaped with colorful flowers and plants. He died at Dekalb Medical Center following surgery.
