ALSO: From the Cannon Book by Clarence Cannon; "Eli Hubbard was born in Kentucky (Madison County) and came to Missouri shortly before his marriage. After the death of his wife (Keziah, died in 1828)he moved with their child (Rebecca) to Montgomery County, Missouri. He was married the 2nd time on October 30, 1828 (at Lincoln County, Missouri) to Mary Margaret Myers (daughter of Elijah Myers and Hannah Barnett) of Lincoln County. She died September 23, 1830. They had one son, William G. Hubbard. Eli was last married to Elizabeth Buchanan (daughter of Thomas Buchanan and Anne Butler) on May 4, 1836, at Lincoln County, Missouri, and resided in the state of Illinois, where the census of 1850 reports him as having a large family. In 1853 he emigrated to the state of Oregon where his brother, Charles, had preceded him. Both he and his brother are said to have prospered and both probably are buried in Marion County, Oregon."
NOTE: The town of Hubbard, Oregon is named after Eli's brother, Charles Hubbard 1800-1884.
