Title: Beckley Woman Succumbs at 63

Mrs. Maye Cooper Wannamaker, 63, of 212 1/2 Ellison Ave., died in local nursing home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after a long illness.

She was born at Charleston May 13, 1905 and was the daughter of the late Ordie C. and Lulu E. Hatcher Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Wannamaker who she married in 1936.

She had taught school in Raleigh County for 35 years with 30 of that time at Mabscott Elementary School. She retired in 1962. She was a graduate of Marshall University and a member of the First Christian Church of Beckley.

Other survivors include one sister, Miss Faye Cooper of Beckley.

The body is at Melton Mortuary where friends may call after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held in the Melton Mortuary Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. Friday with Dr. W.H. Griswold in Charge. Burial will be in Sunset Park Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Robert Hatcher, Cecil Maples, Harold Williams, Paul Phipps, Grover Saint Clair, David Mullens and Nolan Gunter.
