This photo was inside another just recently-found photo album belonging to my second great-grandmother, Emma Welty Coulter 1841-1929, which had images of many of their family friends and relatives, all 19th century Greensburgers.

On the back of this CDV (carte-de-visite) image is the name of the studio: Broadbent and Phillips, 1206 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA.

This photo was found in an old Victoria-era photo album that belonged to my second great-grandmother, Emma Welty (Mrs. General Richard Coulter)b. 1841 - d. 1929. It was passed down in the family to me.

I am not certain of the connection between the Coulter family of Greensburg and the Furtwanglers / McTighes - however I suspect the latter might have been employees of the former? It would seem that the Furtwanglers named two children after my Welty ancestors (Henry "Harry" Welty Furtwangler) and Thomas J. McTighe might have been named for Thomas Jamison McTighe - whose mother was also a Welty.

I have no restrictions whatsoever on the reproduction of these old photos for enthusiastic genealogists or descendants of the Furtwangler or McTighe families - do get in touch with me if you know more about them than I do.
