Sheldon J. Endres, 61, of 8946 Lakeview Drive, Town of Lee, who taught music in Rome public schools, died Wednesday, October 5, 1968, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness.

Born in Utica, on March 26, 1927, he was a son of Otto and Marguerite Jones Endres. He received his master's of science in music education from the State University College at Potsdam. During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Asiatic Paciific theater. On June 25, 1955, he married Joyce Griffiths.

He was a member and adjudicator of the New York State Music Association, member of Oneida County Music Teachers Association, Utica Civic Band, Clinton Pops Orchestra, Con Amore Orchestra, Local 51 of the American Federation of Musicians, Lake Delta Fire Department, and was lead alto and arranger for the Mohicans Dance Band.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Karen M. Endres, Watertown, a son, Kevin Endres, Rome, and a granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Rome Sentinel, Oct. 6, 1988
