Alfred A. Minahan, 73, owner of Minahan Pharmacies in Wakefield and in Alton Bay, N.H., died of a heart attack Saturday morning at his summer home in Alton Bay.

A native of Merrimac, Mr. Minahan lived on Parker road, Wakefield for 30 years. He was a pharmacist's mate in the Navy during World War II.

A trustee of the Wakefield Savings Bank, he was a member of Wakefield Council Knights of Columbus, and the Wakefield Rotary Club.

He leaves his wife, Julia M. (Lynch); two sons, John J. of North Andover, and State Representative Alfred A. Minahan Jr. of Wakefield.

A funeral Mass will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Wakefield. Interment will be in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
