Sir George Blount was brother to Elizabeth Blount, mistress of King Henry VIII. He was a Member of Parliament for many years, serving Shropshire, Bridgnorth, and Much Wenlock. He served, at various times, as High Sheriff of Staffordshire and High Sheriff of Shropshire. He lived his last decade separated from his wife, Constantia, and disinherited his daughter in favor of a nephew.
