Born in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Dr. and Mrs. David W. Basham.
Following his medical training and internship, her served in the U.S. Navy for seven years before coming to Eureka. In 1951 he was united in marriage to Rosalee "Erickson" Stuber. They left Eureka in 1952 and have resided in Missouri for the past 14 years. Dr. Basham was associated with the Veterans Hospital at Poplar Bluff and the Missouri State Hospital at Fulton, Mo.
Survivors include his widow; eight children, Janie, Mary, Teresa, David, Kristi, Kevin, Nancy and Brian, of the home; and three brothers, Dr. John H. of Eureka, Dr. Charles E. of Pomona, California and Dr. James J. of Fort Scott, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dr. David and Dr. Francis.
Funeral services and burial were in Poplar Bluff, Tuesday, January 16, 1973.
