He was the son of George and Myrtle (Hatfield) McCarthy. Dan served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1972. He was employed by Rock County Buick in the parts department until he retired in 2004. Dan was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Eagles Club. He was an avid football and NASCAR fan and very much enjoyed the company of his beloved dog, Kookie. He passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Mercy Hospital.
