Per his Death Certificate, Amos died from renal failure, congestive heart failure, and respiratory failure. He was married to Zenda I. Snyder.

Amos C. Bateman, 92, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Harbor-side Healthcare, New Haven. Born in Martin County, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He retired in 1978 after 30 years of service as a carpenter with Magnavox Corp. and was a member of the Magnavox Quarter Century Club.

Survived by his wife of 35 years, Zenda of New Haven; two sons; two daughters; brothers, Cecil and Virgil Bateman; three granddaughters, two step-granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a wife, Mildred, in 1967; four brothers; and three sisters. Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5401 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling is also from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy. 930 E., New Haven. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
