Lester E. Sherman, his wife, Etta (Welcome) Sherman, their daughter, Marietta (Sherman) Granger and their son-in-law, Ralph Granger Jr., were in a car accident on February 28, 1954. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman and Mr. Granger died in this accident. The obituaries were all in the same article as the accident. Below is excerpts from the article, the first three paragraphs of the obituary is the same for all three and then I have only added the pertinent information for each individual. I have also done the death notices for each individual, individually.

From the Times Record (Troy, New York) March 1, 1954

The funeral of Lester E. Sherman, 48, West Hoosick building contractor; his wife, Etta Mae Welcome Sherman, 44, and their son-in-law, Ralph Granger, Jr., 23, also of West Hoosick will be held at 2 pm Thursday from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls. Rev. Harold Hammer, pastor of the West Hoosick Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will take place in the West Hoosick Cemetery.
The condition of Mrs. Granger, the former Marietta Sherman, 21, remained critical at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge today. She has not regained consciousness and has a possible skull fracture.
The Granger's have two children, Ralph Granger, III, 2 years old, and Linda Lou Granger, two months old.
Granger was born in Hoosick Falls on May 21, 1930, son of the late Ralph and Mabel Granger. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Ralph Granger of Hoosick Falls and eight half brothers and sisters.
He had been employed as a carpenter by his father-in-law.

Funeral on Thursday at 2 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, Hoosick Falls. Interment in West Hoosick, N.Y.
