William C. Albertson Jr., age 78, 1834 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy), died at 11:03 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was admitted the night before.
Born in Bloomsburg, on July 23, 1935, he was a son of the late William C. and Mildred (Miller) Albertson. He resided in Espy for over 10 years and previously resided in Berwick for many years. He was a 1953 graduate of Millville High School.
He was an over-the-road truck driver and truck owner from 1955 to 2005, when he retired.
Bill served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley Crawford; a son, William C. Albertson III; a grandson, Randy S. Albertson Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Renea Schneider; and a sister, Tisha Shoemaker.
Surviving are two sons: James A. Albertson and Randy Stewart Albertson, both of Berwick; two daughters: Tina Lawson, Coolidge, Ariz.; and Billy Joe Albertson, Berwick; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was the last of his immediate family.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Pastor Timothy Zimmerman of the Spirit Life Church, Bloomsburg, officiating. Family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m.
