Francis Xavier Govers II, age 75, surround by his family, died following a brief battle with Liver and Gall Bladder cancer, Saturday, January 4 2014, at his residence in Houma, Terrebonne Parish, LA. He was born in Vincennes, Knox Co IN., son of Franics Xavier Govers and Mabel Rae Wright.

On 4 Apr 1940 census, living at 615 North First St., Vincennes, Knox Co IN., Francis Govers 59, a Research Chemist, wife Mabel Govers 37, children; Francis X Govers 1, Sally Ann Govers 10/12, Bro-in-law George Robert Wright 17 and a maid, Aline Geyer 20 years.

Francis was about 5 years old, when his father, Dr. Francis Xavier Govers died 10 Feb 1943 at his home, 419 North Third St., Vincennes, IN., Wednesday night at 9:45. He was a consulting chemist for the Texas company at Lawrenceville, IL and inventor of the Govers process for removing wax from lubricating oils,Dr Govers had 50 patents including the Havoline Wax-Free Oil patent in 1920 for Indian Oil Refinery in Lawrenceville, IL.

Francis was 1st married Sep 10 1959 to Velma J Brent, 3 children; Francis III, Valerie, David... Velma Jean was previously married to Edward Ralston ... son Danny Ray Ralston. Francis remarried 3 Apr 1971 to Elizabeth A Harmon, she was previously married 26 Aug 1960 to James Percy Barrington ..daughter; Elizabeth Rebecca(Becky)Barrington. Francis and Ann never had any children of their own, but with the children; Francis, Valerie, David, Becky and Danny Ray, were raised as their own. Francis often said "am proud of children and what they have accomplished in their lives"..

Francis had worked for Patterson Services, after 33 years he retired in 2008. Prior to Patterson Services, he worked for Tuboscope in Morgan City and Houma, for many years.

Francis WD5JJH, member of Thibodaux Amateur Radio Club and AAA6LA with Army Mars for many decades. He was a member/parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church in Houma, Louisiana.

He enjoyed reading books, working with computers, collecting vintage model vehicles, and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Going to the casinos with Ann was his greatest pleasure. He loved all of his grandchildren, but the 2 grandson's Landon James and Noah William Aucoin, living the closest, would come on weekends to Grandpa and Granny's house, which they look forward to..

He is survived by his, Spouse: Married to the love of his life, Elizabeth Harmon, about 43 years. Sons: Francis X. Govers III and wife Carol of North Richland Hills TX., David R. Govers and wife Desiree of San Diego CA., daughter; Valerie J. Govers Buzalsky and husband John of Vancouver WA., Step son; Danny R. Ralston of Lawrenceville IL., Step daughter: Elizabeth B. Aucoin and husband Spencer of Amelia LA., and Brother-in-Law: Tom L. Gray of Kensington MD.

He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Ben Buzalsky, Daniel Buzalsky, Rachel Buzalsky, Bethany Buzalsky Martin, Jessica Govers Darrouzet, Corbin Govers, Ryan Govers and 4 Step-grandchildren; Danny Lee Ralston, Shellie Ralston Masterson and Landon James Aucoin, Noah William Aucoin, and 4(6) Great grandchildren; William Richard Darrouzet, Oliver James Darrouzet, (Amelia Ruth Darrouzet) and Charlie Tucker Buzalsky, Emily Grace Martin and(Daniel Jonathan Martin). 3 Step-great grandchildren; Geovanni & Emmanual Xavier Ralston and Tessa Lynn Masterson. His close friend Russell Derouen - Sunday morning coffee drinking buddy.

He was preceded in death by his, Parents: Francis Xavier Govers and Mabel Wright Govers, a Sister: Sally Anne Govers Gray, a Half-Sibling Govers and Step-grandson: Jeremy Ralston,

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and a Liturgy of the Word will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.

Burial will be held by the family at a later date.(Francis's wishes was to be Cremated, ashes are to be buried with his wife Ann, and not ever to be left alone or forgotten)

As of August 25 2015, am buying a Crypt ..at St Francis #2 cemetery..312 F...St Vincent Fedder Corridor, Houma, La... Our wish is for Francis to be in my arms...
