Nathaniel was a Captain of the 12th Co., 4th Regiment of the Continental Troops in 1758 during the French-Indian War. He was also a Patriot during the American Revolution, serving on committees in support of soldiers.
His son, Nathaniel Everts, Jr. was a Captain in the 7th Co., 14th Regiment, CT. Militia during the American Revolution.
He was son of Nathaniel Everts and Margaret Hastings and husband of Esther Jones. She is buried with her husband.
They are buried at The Old Burying Ground behind the Town Hall, Lakeville, Salisbury, Litchfield Co., CT.
