Besides serving with the United States Army Air Corps and United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War (January 1, 1942 to June 25, 1953), Strausser studied the law. He was admitted to the California State Bar (SBN 23658) in December 1952. He later became a Judge with the Municipal Court of Riverside County, serving in the Corona, California branch.
