81, Former
Resident, Dies
John Boatright, 81, uncle of Herman Boatright and a former Harrisburg resident, died in the home of his sister, Mrs. J. W. (Madge) Gillespie, in Indianapolis, Ind. at 7:30 a.m. today. he had been in failing health for the past two weeks and death was attributed to his heart condition.
Mr. Boatright was a retired employee of the Nation hotel in East St. Louis where he had lived for many years. He was born in Saline county and was the son of the late Louis and Mollie Boatright. He is survived by his sister in whose home his death occurred and was preceded in death y his brothers, Walter Boatright and Harry Boatright of Harrisburg.
The body will be received by the Gaskins funeral home in Harrisburg ad will lie in state there at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held in the Gaskins funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. William Burroughs officiating and burial will be in the Brushy cemetery.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
