Age 92, of Canonsburg, died on Friday, April 3, 2009. She was born on May 22, 1916, in Amwell Township, a Daughter of Raymond Alexander Liggett and Margaret Burkhart Liggett, and was raised in Avella. Mrs. Frye, who resided in McMurray Hills Manor, was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, formerly Geenside United Presbyterian Church. In 1944, she married Albert Floyd Jr., formerly of Hickory, who died in 1950 at the age of 38. Mrs. Frye never remarried, and she raised their two daughters with the help of family. She was an exceptional homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining. In addition to raising her daughters, she provided care for children of working mothers. She enjoyed music and dancing, raised African violets and instilled a love of reading in her children. She loved to reminisce about growing up on her parents' farm and celebrating family holidays there. She also loved her dog, Danielle, and enjoyed horseback riding as a young woman. Surviving are two Daughters, Deborah Sue, wife of Kenneth M. Wilson of Geneva, IL, and Brenda (Joyce), wife of William K. Stewart of Washington; a Sister, Josephine Liggett Craig of Washington; Granddaughters Tiffany (Jeff Prem), Megan (Joseph Lyons) and Erin Kahle Stewart; and four Great-grandchildren, Sara L. Hathaway, Noah S. Hathaway, Reilly J. Steuernagel and Liam V. Lyons. Deceased are 13 sisters and brothers, Beatrice Waugaman, Ann Tilton, Nora Huston, Virginia Liggett, Gladys Rohm, Ralph Liggett, Fred Liggett, Stanton Reed (Sam) Liggett, Ashley Liggett, Abner Jackson (Jay) Liggett, John Pershing (Jack) Liggett, Alexander Liggett and Hilda Scott. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home, 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg (724-745-5810). A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, in Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Independence Cemetery.
