Luddie was my Grandfather's sister. She was married to Reggie Eugene Harkness. Her parents were William Martin Smith,and Mattie Lee Davis Smith. Siblings were:
Gurthie Melissa Smith Baker; William Harry Smith,Sr.; Ally Vee Smith Walton; Ruby Lee Smith Patterson; Fred Martin Smith; Murlin Charles Smith. Aunt Ludie died Monday, June 19, 1995 at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport after a brief illness. She was born February 22, 1908 in Line Creek Community and was a resident of Belcher for over 60 years. She was a housewife and a member of Belcher Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reggie E. Harkness; daughter Helen Harkness Wingate and her spouse, Windy Wingate. She is survived by three sons, Eugene Harkness and his wife Shelia of Belcher, JC Harkness and his wife Glenda of Shreveport, Jimmy Harkness and his wife Judy of Belcher; four daughters, Hazel Burnett and spouse Marvin of Salisbury, NC; Mattie Allen and spouse Billy of Belcher; Yvonne McCullough and spouse David of Belcher; and Jeanette Trickett and spouse Gary of Shreveport. Two sisters, Allie Smith Walton and Rubye Smith Patterson both of Belcher, eight grandsons, seven granddaughters and 18 great-grandchildren.
