Royal Richardson, 86, died Sept. 24, 2012.

He was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Frank and Amy Richardson and moved to Pasadena as a baby.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He worked in construction for and help to build many of the homes in Yucaipa.

Royal lived in Yucaipa for many years, then Oregon and finally Pahrump, Nevada.

He was active and enjoyed drag racing.

He was a member of a nondenominational church in Arkansas.

Royal is survived by his loving wife of 64 years and two months, Martha Richardson; three children — daughter Linda Ewalt of Rogue River, Oregon, Guy Richardso of Pahrump, Nevada and Frank Richardson of Twin Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and other family members.

He was predeceased by his parents, five sisters and one brother.

A memorial service will be held on Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at 5301 Deanna St. in Pahrump.
