FLORENCE SEE
Oct. 13, 1922 - Jan. 4, 2014

Mom was wrapped in the arms of Jesus the morning of January 4. She had accepted Him as her savior at the age of 34.

Born to Anna and Sanders Hamilton in Birch Tree, MO, she was ninth of ten children. At age six her family migrated to Warrenton, OR where her father and brothers sought employment in the timber industry. In 1939 she married Carl Levon See and they raised three daughters; Sharon, Linda and Pamela.

Mom's was a life of service. Dad was a victim of Von Recklinghausen's disease and for 30 years she gave herself to his care; all the while running a small café with her sister in an effort to help support the family. Soon after becoming widowed at the age of 59, she relocated to Salem and continued in serving through her church and to her family through four generations.

Her life lessons taught us: Commitment to our loved ones in the hard times, to follow the call of Christ, to love one another.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Daddy and one great-grandchild. She is survived by daughters Sharon (Don) Baldwin of Warrenton, Linda (Loren) Stratton of Turner, and Pamela (Earl) Van Volkinburg of Salem, eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren plus a few great great grandchildren. In addition she leaves three "heart" daughters; Petra Lonigan of Salem, Colette Cheramie in Israel and Gerd Opedal of Norway.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, January 9 at Salem Evangelical Church, 455 NE Locust. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm, January 10 at Oceanview Cemetery, Warrenton, OR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Union Gospel Mission or Willamette Valley Hospice. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.

Our most sincere thanks to the staff of Southern Hills Prestige Care. The proficiency of your skilled care is surpassed only by your compassion and love.
