Russell Leroy Pippen (1897-1970). Earl took the surname Brown after Grace married Clarence R. Brown in 1923. He served in the US Army in World War II in the South Pacific from 1942-1945. After the war, he worked at E F Houghton Co. in Philadelphia. After retiring, he worked as a security guard for the Philadelphia Free Public Library system. He married Mary M. Erdman (1918-1998) on March 5, 1947 in Philadelphia. They had two children: Arlene Grace Brown (1948-) and Earl Leroy Brown, Jr. (1953-). Earl died at Parkwood Hospital in Philadelphia and was buried at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville, Pa.
