Emma Louise Spears Chandler, 87, of Alum Creek born May 19, 1918, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Chandler; parents, Elmer and Mary Dillon Spears; sister, Jo Estep; and two grandsons, Brian Sutphin and Jason Chandler.

Louise attended the Independent Missionary Baptist Church, Alum Creek.

She is survived by four daughters, Genomia and Louis Kovar of Brook Park, Ohio, Ann and Larry Sutphin of Tornado, Gail and Butch Griffith of Alum Creek, and Sue and Jerry Wade of Yawkey; four sons, Charles and Katha, Jimmie and Marcia Chandler, all of Alum Creek, Keith and Libby, Ray and Sherie Chandler, all of Tornado; two sisters, Delores Leffingwell and Helena Hammonds of Proctorville, Ohio; brother, Pete Spears of Kentucky; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and neighbors.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
