Otto Bode, son of Henry and Doris Rohrs Bode, was born July 6, 1905, in Hanstedt, Germany. He came to this country in 1921 at the age of 16 and settled in the Paullina area. On February 3, 1935, he was united in marriage to Lillian Fiddelke in Germantown. After their marriage, the couple farm outside of Gaza for many years until Otto retired in 1972. The couple continued to live on the farm until Otto enters the Methodist hospital in Omaha and passed away on Saturday, September 4, 1982, reaching the ages 77 years, one month and 28 days. He was baptized on July 16, 1905, and confirmed in 1919 unto the Lutheran faith in Germany and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Paullina. He was also an active member of the Senior Citizens of Paullina. Otto leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Lillie of Primghar; four daughters, Mrs. Buck Rhonda Coghlan of Cave Creek, Arizona; Mrs. Robert Carol Lange of Bellevue, Nebraska Mrs. Sandra Boner of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. James Becky Poduska of Chelsea, Iowa; one son Steven Bode of Omaha, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother Walter Bode of Eugene, OR any host of other relatives and friends.
