Altagracia Borges of Heber passed from this life on Friday, November 30 after a courageous battle with cancer, she was 77 years old.

Altagracia was born March 11, 1930 in Mapastepec, Chiapas. Altagracia met and married Tomas Borges. She devoted her life to her family. She took care of her family the best way she knew how and we all have the extra pounds to prove it. Sunday afternoons will not be the same at Abuela's house. There will still be food, but not as much, there will still be noise, but not as much, there will still be love, but not as much.

Visitation for Altagracia will be held Wednesday, December 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 40 E. Main Street in Heber. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mass will commence at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heber with Father Ruben Valenzuela officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Mtn. View Cemetery in Calexico.

A reception for family and friends will be held at Sacred Heart's Church Hall, 40 E. Main Street in Heber following the services.

Altagracia was preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Borges in 1993; granddaughter, Saschenka Thomas in 1996 and her daughter Xiomara Acevedo in 2005.

Altagracia is survived by her son Jesus A. Nieto; daughters, Maria Zaragoza and Lucia Zaragoza of Heber, Victoria Gonzalez of El Centro, Patricia Croxton of Bakersfield and Yvonne Thomas of El Centro and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
