Services for Dr. Perry Allerton, 90, a physician and surgeon in Elgin for many years, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church of Elgin, 216 E. Highland St., Elgin. Dr. Allerton, of Wayne, died Monday in Sherman Hopital, Elgin. He was a descendant of Isaac Allerton, who came to America on the Mayflower. Dr. Allerton was former chief of staff at Sherman and St. Joseph Hospitals in Elgin and maintained a practice in Elgin for many years. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; 2 sons [names removed]; a daughter [name removed]; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
