Eugene R. Castello, age 88 of Marinette Wisconsin passed away January 9, 2014 at The Luther Home of Marinette. Eugene was born April 8, 1925 to Eugene and Mary (Bogetto) Castello in Negaunee, MI.

He graduated from Baraga High School in Marquette, MI in 1944. Following high school, he served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After service, Eugene attended St. Norbert College, where he earned his BA Degree in Education; later acquiring his Master's Degree in Guidance from MSU.

Eugene married Corliss Young on November 26, 1959 at St. Peter's Cathedral in Marquette, MI. He worked as a guidance counselor in Cadott, WI until coming to Marinette in 1966. Eugene worked for the Marinette Public Schools as the Guidance Director until retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa, NEA, WEAC as well as MEA.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 54 years, Corliss; sons: Steven (Michele) of Delafield, WI and Peter (Barbara) Roepke of Medford, WI; 3 grandchildren; a sister Dolores Vallot of Beaumont, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald.

Visitation at Thielen Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish - Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette. Entombment in Forest Home Mausoleum with Military Honors provided by the Military 20 Year Club.
