From her cousin Jean:
"Auntie" Marian is my much beloved cousin. We were partners in many adventures as we urged each other on to explore every facet of life and how we could enjoy it more. We were also there to help each other through the rough patches. And we both had our share of those, but got through them with support from the other. Marian was always there when you needed her, no questions asked… just there because she knew when you needed support, comfort and to feel the love of family. She reached out to give you strength and support when the road ahead was full of pitfalls. She faced life with all the problems it could dole out with strength and courage, always rising to the challenge. She took life on her terms and could always say "I did it my way" because she instinctively knew what she was capable of accomplishing and so she just did it without ceremony or expectation of anything in return.
