Obituary from the Star-Telegram dated July 11, 2004: EULESS -- John Murphy Arwine, 87, a retired bus driver, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004, in North Richland Hills. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Arwine Cemetery, Hurst. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. John Murphy Arwine was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Hurst. He began his career with Bowen Motor Coaches in 1945 and watched the company change and grow until his retirement 37 years later from Continental Trailways. He was very proud of his achievement of a two-million-mile driving safety record. Mr. Arwine was a 50-year member of the Masonic Stockyard Lodge 1244. Mr. Arwine was the last surviving grandson of pioneer couple, Daniel and Julia Arwine, who donated acreage in Hurst for a community school, church and cemetery in 1879. Mr. Arwine was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Bessie Arwine, in June 2001; and daughter, Mary Ponds, in September 1998.
