Daniel Boone Holeman was born in Warren County IL, probably in Roseville Township, the son of Reuben and Susannah Crabb Holeman. On December 25, 1870, he married Harriet Ann Smith near Greenbush IL. In 1872, he moved to Kansas and homesteaded at Blue Mound, Linn County, for 5 years. In 1877, the Holemans moved back to Roseville, Warren County IL where they lived until 1903 when they moved to Moran KS (Allen County) to be near their children. Mrs. Holeman died there July 18, 1904. After his wife died, Daniel moved in with his daughter, Mrs. Harlan (Susannah) Taylor in Moran KS although he at times lived with his son, William B. Holeman in Bishop CA, according to his obituary published in the Roseville Times Citizen, September 2 and September 5, 1930. Daniel died at the home of his daughter in Iola KS. Daniel was buried in Greenbush Cemetery, Warren County IL.
