Keith was one of 16 children; 5 boys from the family enlisted in the Great Wars, 4 in WWI and one in WWII. Keith enlisted on 4 September 1917 at 21, giving his occupation as a farmhand from Sandringham, Victoria. His older brother, Victor, was killed in action in France (FaG Memorial 565554600.) William and Lionel also fought in WWI and returned home to Australia safely as did Keith. Keith returned on 26 January 1919. His younger brother, Thomas, (FaG 55964317) was killed in World War II. Keith married Victoria Eleanor in 1927 in Victoria.

From Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser, Friday 24 August 1917 "RECRUITING. The following have offered themselves for enlistment during the past week:— Bodsworth, Keith (Coolamon) Williams, Mervyn (Coolamon) Hough, E. (rejected). McGrossin, A. C. (rejected). Gorton, Richard (Leeton). Holland, George S. (rejected). Smith, Jas. S. (rejected). A social will be held in Gleeson's Hall, Grong Grong on Friday evening, August 31. The proceeds of the fixture will be given to the War Chest Fund." 4139 Private Keith BODSWORTH; 14 LHR [Light Horse Regiment] - 33 and 34 Reinforcements (November-December 1917), Embarked 16 November 1917 from Sydney, Australia aboard the SS Canberra.
