Bessie Rachel Ferrell, 83, of Muncie, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2014 at Liberty Village in the presence of her loved ones.
She was born in Coffee County, Tennessee, on April 16, 1930 to the late Nanny Casilene Winfrey and Morrison Evans Winfrey. She married her husband Nolen in June, 1946 and moved with her family to Muncie in 1957. She worked at several local businesses including Muncie Central School Cafeteria, Wise's Market and Eavey's Market. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, collecting owl figurines, jewelry, salt and pepper shakers, spending time with her family, and traveling to Tennessee to visit family who still reside there.

Bessie is survived by her daughter, Rachel Woodson (husband Eddie); son, Doug Ferrell (wife: Vicki) all of Muncie; seven grandchildren, Sheila McDonald (husband: Joe), Brian Shaw (wife: Rhonda), Greg Ferrell, Melinda Erdel (husband: Michael), Doug Ferrell Jr., Phyllis Weans, and Patrick Woodson (wife: Danielle); twelve great grandchildren, Katelyn Dreher, Tyler Ferrell, Kylie Dreher, Taylor Ferrell, Devin Nannie, Kelsey Dreher, Jacob McDonald, Kayla Shaw, Nathan Erdel, Leslie Woodson, Luke Woodson, and Emily Woodson; seven great-great grandchildren, Abigail Louk, Alejandro Garcia, Ethan Louk, Gabriella Garcia, Kaili Workman, Cayden Rice, and Brycen Weans; two brothers, James Winfrey and Morrison Winfrey; one sister, Lorene Segroves and several nieces and nephews.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Nolen Ferrell, her parents, three sisters Mozelle Bush, Rena Brown, and Marie Bush, a brother, Alfred Winfrey, nephews, Allen Winfrey and Clyde Earl Bush, niece Linda Waters and special cousin Mattie Allenbaugh.
