Gwen Mathews, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.
Service is 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Bethesda United Methodist Church in Garner with Pastor Brady Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery.
Gwen was born Oct. 4, 1946, to Jim and Billie Griffin in Fort Worth. She was a longtime resident of Weatherford and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She worked as an insurance claims adjuster. Gwen also worked as a cafeteria worker for Weatherford ISD and was a substitute teacher for Peaster ISD.
She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Steve Mathews, of Weatherford; daughters, Shawn Rasbeary and husband, Steve, of Fort Worth, Missy Tidwell and Trey of Houston, Brandi Nino and husband, Phillip, of Weatherford, Yvonne Bunch and husband, David, of Comfort and Stephanie Mathews, of Comfort; son, Chad Mathews and wife, Sarah, of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jeremiah Segura, Amber Segura, Dylan Segura, Ben and Celeste Torres, Cody Tidwell, Ashlee Cato, Randa Pettit, Jordan Bunch, Jonah Bunch and Ashlee Dingler; and great-grandson, Kamden Dingler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church.
