Margie Mae Allen, 90 passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital and a resident of the Southwest LA War Veterans Home.

She was a graduate of 1940 from Sulphur High School. Margie lived many years in Sulphur and Lake Charles before moving to Dry Creek after retirement. She worked as a LPN for many years, was an avid gardener who loved working in her yard especially her flowers.

Margie is survived by her son, Floyd Eddie Allen of Dry Creek; two daughters, Barbara Barton of Westlake and Jerrie Rae Young and husband, Oris of Lake Charles; 6 grandchildren, Missy Young, Christy Young, Shanacee Gardner, J J Barton, Veronica Schexnayder and Marcie Dobbs; 9 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Mary Allen of Dry Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Allen and son, Glen Teddie Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roderick Martin officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Wednesday at 9 a.m. until time of the service.
