Sally was a 1951 graduate of the former Lawrence Park High School, and had been an active member of the alumni association. She retired from Wells-Fargo Bank in Tempe in 1980. During her husband's military career, Sally traveled with her family to many places world-wide. Her interests included knitting, bowling, attending luncheons with friends, and reading mysteries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Uhbert (d 10/1982 age 68 in FL), Edward* (d WWII), Neil, Thomas, Louis, and Kenneth French.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Joseph S. Yates; her son, Randy J. Yates of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Myrtle Beute Lynch and her husband Walter, Betty Higby, and Nancy Clorley, all of Erie; and many nieces, nephews.
Interment, Lakeside Cemetery.
