Clifford K. Everwine, 89 of Clay City, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2002 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born Aug. 5, 1912 in Clay County, he was the son of Jacob and Lillie Miller Everwine.
He was a farmer in Clay County retiring in 1973. He was active in his church, the Abundant Life Worship Center, and was a Deacon and church secretary for many years.
Survivor include, one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Patricia Everwine of Charlestown; two daughters and son-in-law, Delores Mattox of Clay City and Sharon and Doyle Long of Seminole, Okla.; one sister, Myrtie Johnson of Linton; six grandchildren, Kevin Everwine, Karyn Shash, Carmela Mattox, Lisa Shouse, Randy Long, David Long; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma E. Hopkins Everwine on April 18, 2002; one son-in-law, Leroy Mattox; one great grandson, Mark Shouse; two brothers, Troy and Alfred Everwine; one sister, Floy Snellenberger; and his parents.
Funeral services will be at Abundant Life Worship Center, 600 Forest St., Clay City at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Doyle Long officiating and co-officiating will be the Rev. Floyd Johns, the Rev. Randy Long and the Rev. David Long. Burial will follow at Sink Cemetery at Clay City.
