SENECA FALLS, N.Y. - William G. Kerr, age 79, of Seneca Falls, New York, died at Clifton Springs Hospital on Sunday, May 26, 2002.

Bill Kerr was born at Ridgeway, Orleans County, New York, 24 January 1923 to Reuben and Olive (Eggleston) Kerr.

He resided in Seneca Falls for the past thirty-four years. There are no prior calling hours. Burial services will be at the Amherst Cemetery in Amherst, Virginia.

Bill Kerr was a graduate of Medina High School, 1940; Middlebury College, Vermont, 1948; and McGill University in Montreal, 1950. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy 1943-1946. He worked as librarian for thirty-six years, twenty of which were with the United States Air Force and Army in England, Germany, and Morocco, and at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York. He came to Seneca Falls in 1968 to be the librarian of the newly-established Eisenhower College. He was a life member of the Bibliographical Society of America in New York City.

Bill's life was made pleasant by kind, faithful friends and family with whom he often shared the companionship of books. He appreciated the infinite riches even a small library of well-selected books could provide.

Turner of Poquoson, Virginia; three grandchildren, Katherine, William (Carolyn) and Patrick; a sister, Mary Dudley Guinther of Lockport, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Marcia Kerr of Wauseon, Ohio; and eight nieces and nephews.
