Phyllis A. Bundy 8/1/34 ~ 1/7/03 Phyllis Alexis Bundy died on January 7, 2003, of pneumonia incident to emphysema. She was born in New Bern, North Carolina, the daughter of Haydeé Morris and Caleb Bradham, later divorced. She was loved as a daughter by her step-father, Norman Mellor, Jr. She married Sheldon Kovarsky, later divorced. She was married for a short time to William Bundy. Phyllis is survived by one son, Kenneth (Candy) Kovarsky and grandson, Preston, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one sister, Suzanne (John) Mellor-Fife of Salt Lake City; one brother, Norman (Carolyn) Mellor III of Wilson, Wyoming. Phyllis worked for many years at the University of Utah School of Pharmacy laboratory taking care of the animals. She made many friends, both two-legged and four-legged. Until the last five months, Phyllis always had various animals around her: dogs, cats, fish, birds, bunnies, a rat, a chinchilla (not all at once). Ken and Preston were the light of her life and kept her going much longer than expected. The family is very grateful for and appreciative of the staff at the long-term care and assisted-living facilities at Christus St. Joseph's Villa. The care and concern she received was the best. The true friendships she developed in the short time she lived there, really brightened her days. The family also wishes to thank Dr. John Hoidal at the U Medical Center for his good care and appreciated humor over the years as Phyllis' emphysema progressed. Phyllis donated her body to the Anatomy Dep. at the U of U Medical Center, so there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be held later. Friends and family will be contacted. .
