Arnold E. Goeke, age 90, died at home on January 7, 2014. He was born in Newton, the son of the late Edwin and Hilda (Stoltenberg) Goeke on April 16, 1923. Following service in the Merchant Marines, Arnold served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. Arnold married Irene Schnell, daughter of Lester and Ida (Hemb) Schnell on January 28, 1950 in Newton. After moving to Manitowoc, Arnold built the family home in 1956. He was employed at the Aluminum Specialty in manufacturing; Burger Boat, Schwantes, Manitowoc Shipbuilding and Hammond Construction as a carpenter. In addition, Arnold worked part-time at the Zephyr Station for many years and retired in 1985. He married Doris Weina (Knutson) on January 3, 1987 and was divorced in December 2013. Arnold enjoyed 50 years of travelling the United States and Northern Territories in his 7 motor homes.

Arnold is survived by his sons: Keith of Manitowoc, Lee (Sue Marie) of Manitowoc, Todd of Madison and his daughters: Bonnie Goeke-Johnson of Madison and Sue Goeke of Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Nathan Johnson and Sierra Johnson of Madison, Jacob Goeke and Tallon Goeke of Reedsburg, Zachary Thomas of Pardeeville; two step-grandchildren: Ryan Mertz of DePere and Jason Mertz of Waukesha; and a sister and brother-in-law: Eleanor & Wilbur Westphalen, Plymouth. Arnold was preceeded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; his brothers Roland, Wilbur and Leslie; his sisters-in-law Idabelle Goeke, Caroline Goeke and Ann Goeke; his son-in-law, Ed Johnson.

Burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, 1500 Hwy 310 in the town of Kossuth.
