"ASHLAND, Mo. -- Beverly Sue Allen, 57, Ashland, formerly of Savannah, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at a Columbia, Mo., hospital.

Miss Allen had taught in the education department of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, from 1963 to 1970, and at Purdue University, Lafayette, Ind., for several years. Then she was a partner in the food catering business in the Warsaw, Mo., area from 1985 to 1990 and had been a partner in a franchise cleaning business in Columbia since 1990.

Born in St Joseph on Feb. 23, 1941, she had lived in Savannah until 1959. She also had lived in Warrensburg from 1963 to 1970; Lafayette for several years; Deep Water, Mo., and Columbia before moving to Ashland in 1985. Miss Allen was a graduate of the Savannah High School and received a bachelor's and master's degree in science from Central Missouri State University She did doctorate study at Purdue University. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Savannah.

Miss Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel M. and Marvin W. Surviving is Karen Jarrett of the home, and several cousins.
