Edna Mae (Calhoun) Lane McConnell

Edna Calhoun Lane McConnell, 79, Fairview Avenue, died Saturday (April 4, 1992) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.

She was a native of Scott County and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

A daughter of the late Charlie E. and Maude B. Davis Calhoun, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Lane; one daughter, Betty Ann Lane; and a brother, Paul Calhoun.

Surviving are three daughters, Madeline McConnell, Weber City, Patsy Lane Edwards and Peggy Lane Jones, both of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Bruce J. Lane, Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Calhoun Elam, Kingsport, and Iva Ruth Calhoun Strong, Colorado Springs, Colo.; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Scott County Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of a daughter, Madeline McConnell, 106 Click Street, Weber City, and a sister, Mrs. Dewey Elam, 1024 Lake Street, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Baker and the Rev. Ed Bradley officiating.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holston View Cemetery.

In Iieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2101 Stadium Drive, Kingsport, Tenn.
