BARTONVILLE - Earl A. Allsup, age 70, of Bartonville passed away at 9:12 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Peoria to Lester R. and Vivian (Lehmann) Allsup. He married Jane Taylor on June 13, 1964, in Bartonville. They were married 49 years.

She survives, along with one son, Keith (Richilyn) Allsup of Bartonville; one daughter, Karen (Ashley) Yost of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Karley and Rhett Yost, Garrett Allsup, Taylor Maxwell, Jobi Banas and Hailey Banas; one great-grandson, Beau Strube; two brothers, Carl (Pat) Allsup of Hanna City and Bob (Marty) Allsup of Mapleton; two sisters, Dorothy Burt of Sunnyland and Mary Potter of Wyoming, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Milligan and Francis Chenoweth; and two brothers, Lester and Walter Allsup.

Earl was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam from 1968 through 1970.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for over 47 years, retiring in 2011.

He was a member of UAW 974.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton, with military rites.

Memorials may be made to the Tuscarora Volunteer Fire Department, Illinois Cancer Center on Route 91 or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
